Charles Bathurst heads his own global advisory company which he began in 2010 after 30 years of planning and implementing business development and global distribution strategies for both financial services and manufacturing companies. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for IFG Capital.
Currently, Mr Bathurst is a corporate and marketing advisor to Sumitomo Mitsui Trust (UK) Limited and a Director of Aqua Infinitum GmbH a specialist provider of leading solar powered water purification technology. Previously, he was a Director and Head of Fund Distribution at J O Hambro Investment Management Limited (a Credit Suisse Group Company) focused on restructuring and commercialising their fund management business. Prior to joining this he was Head of Hedge Fund distribution and Director International Sales at Old Mutual Asset Managers from 2003, building an internal single and multi manager capability raising over US$3 billion. Before this he was part of the management team responsible for the Credit Agricole Alternative Investment Products Group from start up in 1995 to managing over US$10 billion today. He also established and managed the London branch of Credit Agricole Asset Management being made Managing Director. Mr. Bathurst initially began his alternative investment career in the financial futures markets with GNI in 1988, creating a specialist division in 1990 to develop and market some of the pioneering single strategy hedge funds.
Before joining the financial services industry, Mr. Bathurst had eight years in manufacturing initially with GKN, the UK’s largest industrial engineering company and then with a specialist engineering group. Charles graduated from The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst being commissioned as an officer in the British Army.
